A recent survey has confirmed that more numbers of women are choosing to use vaping as their method of quitting traditional cigarettes than men.
Findings come shortly after Public Health England find that e-cigarettes are 95% less harmful than traditional tobacco cigarettes and are becoming more popular with the general public, but not young people. Statistics on smoking in 2015, estimated that 2.1 million adults in Britain use e-cigarettes and now we know that the majority of these are indeed women looking to kick the habit.
Previous research indicated that the e-cigarette market had been dominated by men, but a survey of 36,000 customers in spring 2015, released in August showed that over half of users were female. One of the main reasons for women to turn to vaping is because not smoking tobacco protects their appearance and e-cigarettes have less of an effect on their skin compared to cigarettes.
Another benefit they found from research is electronic cigarettes are a lot cheaper and in the long term, therefore saving money. The increase in vaping products will hopefully help reduce smoking related illnesses for future generations in the long term.
By 2016, e-cigarettes will be regulated under the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) which will ensure that there will be tighter controls on the quality of ingredients used within e-cigarettes, something multiCIG fully supports to ensure safety for consumers is of paramount importance.
